Can I skip Electives on MongoDB developer learning Path and still pass the associate developer exam?

I’m taking the node.js developer learning path for MongoDB and I would like to attempt the associate developer exam course soon. Do I need knowledge of the courses with the ‘elective’ tag to pass the exam or can I skip those courses and still pass ?

Electives are not mandatory for exam coverage, but rather optional.
