Jakarta
The Jakarta MongoDB User Group event, hosted by @Fajar_Abdul_Karim and Diva in collaboration with DKatalis and Confluent, focused on optimizing system performance using MongoDB and Kafka. Indra Hengkiriang from Confluent kicked off with an insightful session on streaming data with Kafka, highlighting its capacity to meet business requirements and enhance performance. This was followed by Ramzi Afgeshza and Achmad Muzahid from DKatalis, who shared their expertise on optimizing MongoDB for financial applications.
Delhi-NCR
The Delhi-NCR MongoDB User Group Meetup on May 16th, 2024, led by @Priyanka_Taneja and @shrey_batra, featured a series of engaging tech sessions and networking opportunities. Attendees were treated to an Atlas Search workshop by Aditya Dua, a showcase on leveraging GenAI with MongoDB by Luv Gupta, and a session on activating data with Vertex AI.
Bengaluru
The Bengaluru MongoDB User Group, led by @DarshanJayarama and Naveen Kumar, in collaboration with Google for Developers, hosted an engaging Saturday brunch event on May 18th, 2024, at Wissen Infotech. The event featured insightful sessions, including “MongoDB .explain()nation” by Saqib Subhan from Contentstack and “Building a Multimodal RAG Application Using MongoDB Atlas Vector Search and Google Gemini” by Nikhil Rana from Google Cloud. Special thanks to Google for Developers and Wissen Infotech for their support in making this event a success.
Sydney
The Sydney MongoDB User Group, led by @wan, hosted an engaging in-person meetup on May 16th, 2024, at MongoDB Australia’s office. The event featured an insightful session on “Query Conversion Using AI” by Nabi Rezvani, sparking a lively Q&A session. Robin Tang from ServoTrack also presented “Empowering Everyday Australians With Petrol Price Updates: Covering ServoTrack 1’s Utilisation of MongoDB Atlas and Realm (Mobile).”
Amsterdam
The Amsterdam MongoDB User Group, led by @Daniele_Graziani1, hosted its inaugural meetup on May 23rd, 2024, at Picnic HQ. The event featured Franklin Amorim presenting “From Shared to Dedicated: How Picnic Uses Mongosync to Reduce Complexity,” Ivan Fefer presenting “How to Solve Advent of Code Using MQL,” and an introductory session titled “From RDBMS to NoSQL.” A special thanks to Picnic for hosting the event.
Chennai
The Chennai MongoDB User Group hosted an engaging event in collaboration with Petavue on May 30th, 2024. The “Open LLM Day” featured insightful sessions on open-source LLM models and MongoDB’s integration, with presentations by Pranav Reddy, Co-Founder & CIO of Xylem AI, and Jeyaraj V, Co-Founder & CTO of Petavue. Attendees participated in workshops on retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and fine-tuning strategies, followed by networking opportunities. Special thanks to sponsors MongoDB, Boldcap, and Petavue for making the event a success.
Rome
The Rome MongoDB User Group held its ninth meetup on May 30th, 2024, at Sourcesense S.p.A. The event, organized by @cesare_laurenziello, featured presentations from Roberto Barbarito, NoSQL Database Solution Architect, and Leonardo Ludovico Ponnamperumage, Database Administrator. Attendees enjoyed insightful sessions and networking opportunities and concluded the evening with MongoDB swag and pizza. The event was open and free, embodying the true spirit of the community.
Santa Catarina
The Florianópolis MongoDB User Group held its fourth in-person meetup on June 4th, 2024, at Neoway. Organized by @Mateus_Leonardi, @Jessica_Zanelato_Soares1, @Davi_Orlandi, and @Lucas_Aguiar, the event featured engaging sessions, including a presentation by Ricardo Mello on Neurelo with MongoDB and a hands-on Vector Search workshop led by Leandro Domingues, Samuel Molling, Sibelius Seraphini, João Marins, and Alexandre Zanelatto.
Paris
On June 4th, 2024, the Paris MongoDB User Group hosted a captivating meetup at the PayFit Office. The event featured Alexis Chotard and Laurentiu Capatina from PayFit, who shared their journey of scaling MongoDB to stabilize infrastructure and enhance data models. Dr. Han Heloir from MongoDB introduced Atlas Stream Processing, showcasing its powerful capabilities for handling complex data streams. The evening concluded with open discussions, networking, and refreshments. Special thanks to PayFit for hosting this insightful event.
New York
The New York MongoDB User Group event was held on June 6th at MongoDB HQ. Led by Yashwanth Alapati, it was a success despite challenging weather conditions. Michael Lynn kicked off the evening with an engaging workshop on full-text search using Atlas Search and Lucene. Following this, Jacob Marks from Voxel51 demonstrated the use of MongoDB Atlas Vector Search and FiftyOne for managing and querying visual data. His insights into visual data management captivated the audience. Special thanks to Andreessen Horowitz for making the event a part of NY TechWeek.
MENA
The MENA MongoDB User Group, led by Malak Abu Hammad, hosted a virtual meetup on June 8th, 2024, focusing on the cutting-edge capabilities of Vector Search with MongoDB Atlas. Malak Abu Hammad, expert Software Engineering Manager and MongoDB Champion, presented an exclusive session on understanding Vector Search, exploring practical use cases, smart implementation strategies, and live demos.
Bangkok
The Thailand MongoDB User Group — led by Kanin, Phantip, and Piti — held its virtual monthly meetup on June 9th, 2024. The event featured Piti Champeethong presenting “Atlas Local CLI” and Kanin Kearpimy introducing attendees to Atlas Search and Vector Search and also providing them with details about a self-paced workshop to learn the same. Conducted in Thai with materials in English, the sessions catered to both beginners and experienced MongoDB users.
