Hi streaming developers! Last month, we moved Atlas Stream Processing into public preview, opening the product up to all developers on Atlas. If you haven’t tried it yet, we would love your feedback - you can get started with the tutorial here.
Some other great resources to learn more about Atlas Stream Processing and what’s new in public preview include:
Note: In public preview, we are billing for Atlas Stream Processing usage. All running stream processors were stopped prior to this change. To turn any previously running stream processors back on, restart them using .start() or simply create new stream processors and you will be billed going forward in your Atlas project invoice. You will only be charged while a stream processor is running. See details in our documentation.
Thanks for all your valued feedback and input so far. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing what you build!
As part of the community creator beta program i promised to do a article, producing to Kafka, sink connector into Mongo, some on Mongo stream processing and then out to kafka again and then echo to desktop, with some scope creep etc thrown in. I’m still busy… slow but yes…
I’ve done everything off Mongo. tried to enable SP’s in my free MongoDB Atlas (based on shared nodes) account, but discovered Stream processing is only available out of us-east-1 and well, it’s only on paid tier.
Any chance anyone would borrow me a log on onto their us-east-1 environment, where they are using stream processing, to do the next chapter.
Yes the SP10 is not free. But is a database if used as the destination for $emit, that can be an M0 and it doesn’t need to be in us-east-1 or AWS for that matter. So a payment method would need to be configured for the Organization.
