Change the Backup Region
- OAuth 2.0 authentication for programmatic access to Cloud Manager is available as a Preview feature.
- The feature and the corresponding documentation might change at any time during the Preview period. To use OAuth 2.0 authentication, create a service account to use in your requests to the Cloud Manager Public API.
Overview
The following regions are available for Cloud Manager Backups. If you need to change your backup region, complete the procedure on this page.

Procedure
You can view your current Cloud Manager Backup region in the Continuous Backup section. To change your backup region:
In MongoDB Cloud Manager, go to the Continuous Backup page for your project.
If it is not already displayed, select the organization that contains your desired project from the Organizations menu in the navigation bar.
If it's not already displayed, select your desired project from the Projects menu in the navigation bar.
Click Continuous Backup in the sidebar.
The Continuous Backup page displays.
Download any required backup snapshots.
To find the download link, click the Restore History tab, then click the download link next to the snapshot.
Terminate your backups.
For each backup job, complete the steps to terminate your backups. When you terminate a deployment's backup, Cloud Manager immediately deletes the snapshots that are within the dates of the current retention policy.
Note
The backup region can only be changed once all backup jobs are
in the inactive
state.
In MongoDB Cloud Manager, go to the Organization Settings page.
If it's not already displayed, select your desired organization from the Organizations menu in the navigation bar.
Click the Organization Settings icon next to the Organizations menu.
The Organization Settings page displays.
Go to the Support page for your organization.
Click Support in the sidebar.
The Support page displays.
Restart your backups.
After MongoDB Support has changed the backup region for your project, you can restart your backups. For detailed instructions, see Restart Backup for a Deployment.
