Atlas grants users access to organizations and projects through invitations. When an administrator adds you to an Atlas organization or project, Atlas sends you an invitation. Your membership remains pending until you accept the invitation. Invitations expire after 30 days.
Use this page to view and accept invitations that you receive and to view pending invitations that your organization or project sends. To learn how to invite users, see Manage Organization Users and Manage Access to a Project.
Important
Project Invitation Deprecation
The Atlas release on September 13, 2023 deprecates project invitations.
When you invite an organization member to projects within the organization, the user is automatically granted access to those projects and doesn't receive any invitations. When you invite a user to projects in an organization that the user doesn't belong to, the user receives a single invitation to the organization, which includes access to all of the projects that you grant them access to. Invitations expire after 30 days.
Inviting Federated Users
In organizations that use federated authentication, Atlas adds invited federated users directly to organizations and projects as active members when both of the following conditions are true:
The invited user's email address belongs to a verified domain that is mapped to an active IdP configuration.
The organization is connected to your federation through the same IdP configuration.
These users don't receive an invitation and don't need to accept one. Users who don't meet these conditions continue to receive standard invitations.
Organization and project owners add users through the same invite workflow. Federated users added directly appear as active members immediately instead of appearing as Pending User. Atlas sends these users a notification email that doesn't require acceptance.
If a federated user's invitation is pending, expired, or rejected, re-adding the user adds them directly as an active member.
If an invited user doesn't have an Atlas account, their first and last name appear after their first login.
