Enable Natural Language Querying

You can enable Atlas natural language querying by toggling the Enable Data Explorer Generative AI Features setting. Natural language queries can be a helpful starting point and assist you in learning to write MongoDB queries.

Ensure that you enable generative AI features in the Organization Settings page.

To enable this organization-level setting:

  1. If it's not already displayed, select your desired organization from the Organizations menu in the navigation bar.

  2. In the sidebar, click Organization Settings.

The Organization Settings page displays.

Set the Enable Atlas features that use generative AI toggle to On.

  1. If it's not already displayed, select the organization that contains your desired project from the Organizations menu in the navigation bar.

  2. If it's not already displayed, select your desired project from the Projects menu in the navigation bar.

  3. In the sidebar, click the icon next to Project Overview.

The Project Settings page displays.

At your project-level settings in Atlas, you can toggle Enable read-only tools in the MongoDB Assistant. The setting defaults to 'on', but adheres to higher level AI features settings in each respective environment.
