Mumbai MUG: Data Modeling and Schema Design Patterns for MongoDB
MongoDB User Group Mumbai is back with another exciting and insightful event!
Join us on 27th April 2025 at ITM Andheri for an in-depth technical lab session
The purpose of this lab is to provide participants with a better understanding of the data modeling methodology for MongoDB. This will enable you to build more performant applications and have a better experience when using MongoDB.
• Identify the entities in a given prototype application
• Quantify the workloads based on a list of requirements
• Model the relationship between the entities and when to embed or reference
• Apply some of the more practical design patterns — extended reference, inheritance and computed
• Avoid schema design antipatterns — unbounded arrays and bloated documents
Practical applications of this knowledge:
• This workshop equips developers with a structured methodology for designing efficient MongoDB data models and leaves them more confident in choosing MongoDB for their future projects.
• They will gain the skills to identify and resolve common schema design pitfalls in their existing applications and avoid them in future projects.
Why You Should Attend:
By the end of this lab, you’ll:
- Be confident in applying best practices for MongoDB schema design
- Have a clear understanding of how to analyze workloads and model data accordingly
- Be able to refactor existing schemas and design efficient new ones
- Improve your readiness for real-world MongoDB projects
