MongoDB Agent for Ubuntu 20.04 on ARM architecture

Hello MongoDB experts,

Please, are there any plans to release MongoDB Agent binary also for Ubuntu 20.04 on ARM architecture?
According to requirements, it is an unsupported combination of OS and architecture:

(Possibly if there is any public road map which I can check?)

We have our own AWS EC2 deployment with an installed MongoDB Community Edition using Ubuntu on ARM architecture to save some money and we don’t want to switch to Amazon Linux 2 or RHEL/Centos 8 just because of the Agent.

Is there something we can do to help with this release? I suppose MongoDB Agent is not open sourced, so it cannot be compiled …

Hello @Tomas_65355 ,

Welcome to The MongoDB Community Forums!

Cloud Manager is a part of Enterprise Advanced and is needed to be setup for every node on the replica set.

A competitive alternate for this can be using MongoDB Atlas as this can also provide monitoring. There are different tiers to choose from, some cheaper than others and one needs to decide according to the requirements if a shared tier will be enough or a dedicated tier is required and how much storage/ram and other resources are required for each node.

Let me know, in case you have any further questions, I will be happy to help you!

Tarun
