We are upserting data with spark scala code to MongoDB and it’s taking too many RU for single row.

I’m assuming you’re using CosmosDB if you’re asking about request unit utilization. This isn’t really a MongoDB question so there may not be much insight from this community, however this article goes into some detail about RU usage that might be helpful.
