Hello, I’m having some trouble figuring out why the disk space on my M10 almost doubled in about an hour.
I have just one database with “significant” usage, but not coming anywhere close.
I don’t think the backups contribute since there wasn’t another similar increase since then (almost a week ago).
How can I approach this? Is there a place where I can see what this disk space is being used for?
Thanks in advance.
Here’s more information:
Is the large file system size from preallocations? If so, it seems a bit unbalanced with the actual db size. I didn’t have any spikes of temporarily storing a lot more data which could trigger a bigger preallocation.
And here’s a better view of the disk usage increase:
I have the same problem, y asked support for any advice or insight and they replied me that it is normal. Anyway my disk usage keeps ingreasing, even though i have only Kb in use for my data. Not so good mongo

For time efficiency, memory blocks freed when deleting documents, are not returned as free disk space to the OS.
