Webinar: Weather of the Century: Design Overview + High Performance
This talk walks you through how you can use MongoDB to store and analyze worldwide weather data from the entire 20th century in a graphical application.
Managing terabytes of weather data is an exercise in scaling. In this talk, we discuss loading and indexing terabytes of data in a sharded cluster, and optimizing the schema design for interactive exploration. We also discuss sharding and hardware considerations and review the factors that drive the capacity requirements: volume of queries, access patterns, indexing, among others.
