Text Search Languages

This page describes text search capabilities for self-managed (non-Atlas) deployments. For data hosted on MongoDB Atlas, MongoDB offers an improved full-text search solution, Atlas Search.
The text index and the $text
operator may be used with the following languages, and accepts either the
two-letter ISO 639-1 language code or the long form of the
language name:

If you specify a language value of "none", then the text search
uses simple tokenization with no list of stop words and no stemming.
