Get Started with Embedding

Charts offers a Getting Started UI to help you learn how to embed charts and dashboards with an iFrame or Javascript SDK. You can use authenticated or unauthenticated embedding to view charts and dashboards generated from your environment.

Authenticated embedding allows you to perform the following actions to your charts and dashboards:

Unauthenticated embedding allows you to perform the following actions to your charts and dashboards:

  • Allow everyone with the chart or dashboard link to have view access

  • Specify the following options:

    • Maximum data range

    • Auto-refresh

    • Color theme, width, and height

    • Whether to display the title and description

Tip

If you use the Embedding SDK, you can make more flexible adjustments to dashboard settings and rendering specifications such as styling and branding. To learn more, see Embed Charts with the Embedding SDK.

  • You must be a chart or dashboard Author to enable embedding for a chart or dashboard.

  • Access to the data source.

Click Embedding under the Development heading in the sidebar.

The Embedding page displays.

If it isn't already displayed, click the Getting Started tab.

  1. Click the Item that you want to embed.

  2. Click the Method that you want to use.

Follow the instructions in the How to embed section to set up embedding in the Charts UI and your application.

Scroll to the Embedding features section to review the available features and learn more.

Scroll to the Resources section to try different examples and explore different embedding scenarios.
