Legacy Migration

Important

If your source cluster is running a MongoDB version 6.0.17 or earlier, you can use legacy migration options described in this section to migrate to 6.0.17+ destination clusters in Atlas.

For legacy migration, you use the Atlas UI to either pull a MongoDB replica set into an Atlas replica set, or push data from a source replica set monitored in Cloud Manager to a destination in Atlas.

To live migrate a source sharded cluster that runs a MongoDB version 6.0.17 or earlier, upgrade the cluster to 6.0.17+ or 7.0.13+ and then live migrate it to Atlas using this live migration procedure.

If you must use legacy live migration (push) to migrate a source sharded cluster, upgrade the cluster to MongoDB to 6.0.17+ or 7.0.13+, and then migrate it to Atlas using this live migration (push) procedure.

You can also use self-managed tools to migrate manually, load files, and seed or import data.
