Mongod service is failing to start. in mongod log i am gettiing messages as below.

I think the best solution is to restore a backup and if it is possible, upgrade the mongodb version.

did you upgraded your server from 3.0 to 3.6 directly? or upgraded from one late version but forgot to configure/update compatibility?

there is this expression in your error messages:
compatibility=(release="3.0",require_max="3.0")

Release Notes for MongoDB 3.6 — MongoDB Manual

I haven’t worked with 3.x line but it seems you had to follow a certain upgrade path to get the latest. (3.0 to 3.2 to 3.4 to 3.6)

anyways, to find any feasible solution, please tell us a bit more about the story/history of your data and server, especially the versions.
