If primary is down in PSS replica. Which secondary becomes new primary.

I am using PSS replica set in MongoDB 7. If primary is down in PSS replica, which secondary becomes new primary? What are the criteria for choosing new primary in elections?

My concern is to ensure that the remaining two secondaries do not fail to choose a new primary if they both are equally eligible.

Could someone please guide me through this?

Hi Keshav,

the secondary which holds more relevant data like primary node will become next primary with help of voting. so that they won’t fail to choose correct one. The old primary rejoins the set when available but as secondary.
