To all in this thread experiencing the same issue, please see below for troubleshooting:
If you received a 50% discount voucher but were expecting a 100% discount voucher because you are a student, first review our Student Resource Guide and in the FAQ section on mongodb.com/students and ensure you have followed all of the steps.
Below are the most common reasons students receive a 50% voucher rather than a 100% discount voucher.
Issue 1: You have not successfully verified that you are enrolled in the GitHub Student Developer Pack:
- To be eligible for MongoDB student benefits, you must verify that you are successfully enrolled in the GitHub Student Developer Pack by entering your GitHub credentials at mongodb.com/students. Without completing this step, our system has no way of knowing that you are a student.
Issue 2: If you have successfully verified that you are enrolled in the GitHub Student Developer Pack:
- You likely received a 50% discount voucher because your MongoDB University email address is different from your GitHub email address. If you go to mongodb.com/students should see a section on the right with the header ‘Claim Your Free MongoDB Certification’. In that section, there is a link to a form where you can request your free certification voucher.
Issue 3: If you are not enrolled in the GitHub Student Developer Pack:
- You must be enrolled in the GitHub Student Developer Pack to be eligible for our student benefits including free certification. You can fill out the application with GitHub here or by clicking the above link.
Again, please refer to our Student Resource Guide and in the FAQ section on mongodb.com/students for more details.
