FedRAMP Moderate Authorization is the standard for cloud computing security for– controlled, unclassified information (CUI) across federal government agencies. The moderate authorization complies with the security requirements appropriate for cloud service providers (CSPs) handling government data that is not publicly available. MongoDB Atlas for Government is FedRAMP Moderate Authorization–it complies with strong security controls and requirements.
The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) established in 2011, is a government-wide program that promotes the adoption of secure cloud services across the federal government by providing a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services. FedRAMP empowers agencies to use modern cloud technologies, with an emphasis on the security and protection of federal information.
FedRAMP Authorized, at the Moderate or High Impact Level, is reserved for CSPs that have successfully completed the FedRAMP Authorization process with the JAB or a Federal Agency. It indicates that all requirements have been met and the offering is available for agencies to use.
